We are seeking proactive and safety-focused Traffic Management Operatives to join our dedicated traffic team, supporting the delivery of cyclic and first response maintenance activities on the state highway network throughout the Manawatu-Whanganui region as part of our IDC contract.
As a qualified Traffic Management Operative (TMO/TC), you will play a pivotal role at the forefront of maintaining safe and efficient traffic flow onsite, utilising your up-to-date industry certifications and strong commitment to safety excellence.
We have positions available based from our Palmerston North and Whanganui branches.
In addition to the above you will:
Expertly control vehicle and pedestrian movement using signage, and automatic signals
Install, maintain, and remove road signs, cones, barriers, and other essential traffic management devices in line with Traffic Management Plans (TMPs)
Liaise effectively with your STMS to facilitate smooth operations and manage unexpected incidents
Participate actively in daily briefings to enhance understanding of risk management for each project

We’re looking for someone with:
Valid Traffic Control Qualifications/TMO Worker qualifications
Previous experience as a Traffic Controller
Full Class 1 drivers licence
Ideally experienced in, or understands of roading/civil construction
Flexible to workdays, nights, and weekends as required
Demonstrated strong communication skills
