Overview: The Import/Export Executive will be responsible for overseeing and managing the import operations of goods, ensuring compliance with Indian & international trade regulations, and optimizing supply chain efficiency. This role will involve collaboration with customs authorities, freight forwarders, customs clearing agents and internal teams to ensure the seamless flow of goods into the country. Key Responsibilities: Import and Export Operations: Coordinate and manage all aspects of import processes, including customs clearance, documentation, and transportation logistics. Ensure compliance with Indian and international trade regulations, tariffs, and customs requirements. Compliance: Stay up-to-date with international trade laws, regulations, and tariffs to ensure full compliance. This includes customs regulations, trade agreements, and import licensing. Customs Clearance: Facilitate customs clearance processes, including filing import/export declarations, ensuring correct tariff classifications, and paying applicable duties and taxes. Inventory and Supply Chain Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels to meet demand while minimizing carrying costs. Collaborate with internal teams to optimize supply chain efficiency and reduce lead times. Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and review all necessary import documents, including invoices, bills of lading, packing lists, customs declarations, and certificates of origin. Maintain accurate records of all import activities, expenses, and shipments. Vendor Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with vendors. Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts to ensure favourable terms and successful partnerships. Logistics Coordination: Coordinate the transportation of goods, including selecting shipping methods, and carriers, and negotiating shipping rates. Track shipments and monitor delivery schedules. Cost Optimization: Analyse import costs, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements. Develop and manage budgets for international trade operations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Imports/Exports Diploma is a plus. Should have (3+ years) experience in the logistics/ Export/Import sector/ Customs operations/ Freight forwarders/ Shipping lines etc. from similar or related roles. In-depth knowledge of Indian trade regulations, customs procedures, and trade compliance. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Candidate should have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel reports etc. Knowledge of custom clearance process/ Export/ Import process will be an added advantage Should have good written & oral communication skills.
