Index Analyst

The Index Analyst is a developing professional role. Deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices. Good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the subfunction/ job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information. Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact. Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Moderate but direct impact through close contact with the businesses' core activities. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams.

Responsibilities:

Performs daily production and reconciliation of benchmark index models
Places focus on risk control aspect of data management and index calculation and reconciliation processes
Partners with/support team and stakeholders in other regions
Responsible for data management on the calculation systems and implements process improvements in data management
Develops knowledge of index model calculation processes
Conducts daily production and reconciliation of benchmark index models cross asset
Works with the existing team to develop and improve Benchmark Index and risk control processes
Works in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance in order to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure
Builds a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics
Appropriately assesses risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions demonstrating proper consideration for the firm's reputation
Adheres to Citi's Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services
Adheres to all policies and procedures as defined by your role which will be communicated
Obtains and maintains all registrations/licenses which are required for your role, within the appropriate timeframe

Qualifications:

2-5 years relevand experience
Programming, mathematical or financial background is beneficial
Extensive use of MS Office suite
Thorough, organised and detailed approach to work
Excellent spoken and written English Excellent communication
Self-motivated
Knowledge of SQL beneficial Programming (python) background or flexibility and inclination to learn programming in general is beneficial

Education:

Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience
