We have an exciting opportunity for a Database Administrator in our Global IT Team. We are seeking a skilled and motivated PostgreSQL RDS Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability,and security of our databases. You will work closely with our development and operations teams to optimize database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases on Amazon RDS.
• Monitor and optimize database performance, including query tuning and indexing.
• Perform regular backups and implement disaster recovery plans.
• Ensure database security and compliance with industry standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
• Plan and execute database upgrades and migrations.
• Document database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Stay up-to-date with PostgreSQL and RDS developments to apply best practices.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience as a PostgreSQL Database Administrator.
• Strong SQL skills and proficiency in database performance tuning.
• Experience with database security, backup, and recovery strategies.
• Familiarity with AWS services and infrastructure.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
• AWS and PostgreSQL certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Database - Specialty, PostgreSQL Certified Administrator) is a plus
