Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Indian Cook who specializes in North Indian cuisine to join our culinary team. As an Indian Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of authentic North Indian dishes, ensuring high-quality taste, presentation, and adherence to traditional cooking methods.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook a wide range of North Indian dishes, including but not limited to curries, tandoori items, biryanis, bread (roti/naan), and desserts.
Ensure the authenticity and quality of each dish by following traditional recipes and cooking techniques.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage and handling of ingredients.
Monitor and control portion sizes, minimizing food wastage and ensuring consistent plate presentation.
Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan menus, estimate food requirements, and ensure timely food preparation.
Coordinate with the purchasing department to ensure the availability of necessary ingredients and supplies.
Adhere to hygiene and safety standards, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
Keep up-to-date with industry trends, new ingredients, and cooking techniques related to North Indian cuisine.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, providing guidance on cooking techniques and food preparation.
Collaborate with the management team to develop new menu items and suggest improvements to existing dishes.
Requirements:
Proven experience as an Indian Cook, specializing in North Indian cuisine.
In-depth knowledge of North Indian culinary traditions, flavors, and cooking techniques.
Proficiency in preparing a variety of North Indian dishes, including curries, tandoori items, biryanis, bread, and desserts.
Strong understanding of ingredient combinations and the ability to balance flavors.
Excellent knife skills and ability to handle kitchen equipment.
Familiarity with food hygiene and safety standards.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitc
