ROLE SUMMARY:

Performs complex, skilled craftwork in the installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical components and equipment of a semi-automated manufacturing, packaging and distribution facility.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (*denotes essential job functions):
• Knowledge of mechanical troubleshooting, steel fabrication, machine repair, rigging, plumbing and millwright skills.
• Performs preventive maintenance inspections of industrial equipment, i.e. screw conveyors, bucket elevators, etc.
• Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical systems including bearings, pumps, elevators, screws and compressors.
• Repairs mechanical components of electric motors.
• Fits and welds piping.
• Installs and maintains pumps, compressors, and related machinery performing alignments as needed.
• Occasionally performs rigging, ironworking, and boiler making.
• "B" or "C" Mechanics perform all of the above responsibilities as their skills and knowledge increase through on-the-job and technical training.
• Only Mechanics that have attained the "B" level classification or higher are allowed to provide maintenance shift coverage.
• Departmental requirements in order to be considered for the A+ role.
• Other job duties as required by Church & Dwight Co., Inc.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Multi-skilled industrial maintenance experience required.
• Demonstrated competency of the qualifications listed for each classification of Mechanic in the Maintenance Technician Skill Sets document.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Work any shift during the week, weekends, holidays and emergency callouts.
• Use safe operating procedures and judgement.
• Follow all facility rules to maintain quality and integrity of both raw materials and finished products.
• Lift 50 pounds consistently

REQUIRED TRAINING:
• OSHA Safety Training

WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Must be able to work and be comfortable in an industrial environment and chemical processing facility.
• Must possess the ability to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions.
