About The Position
The Gas Meter Painter is a temporary, summer position responsible for cleaning and painting gas meter sets for corrosion mitigation.
Pay: $16.50 per hour

Key responsibilities include:
• Works under the direction of Gas Supervisor, to clean and paint residential meters, regulator stations, and industrial meter locations in assigned area to meet code requirements for corrosion mitigation.
• Paints assigned gas meter sets and up to 3' of customer fuel line.
• Expected to paint a minimum of three to four meters per hour and 1,000 meters over the course of the assignment. Must meet or exceed daily quota while performing quality work.
• Understand and follow all gas safety rules and DOT safety requirements.
Qualifications
• A high school diploma or GED equivalent, required.
• Candidates enrolled in a technical school majoring in Electrical, HVAC, A.C. Electricity, Trade Construction, Welding, Highway Construction, Industrial Pipefitting, Machining, or Maintenance Mechanic is preferred.
• Must successfully complete Meter Painting training and testing.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must have a good Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Must have reliable transportation.
