Our Opportunity:
Supporting our clients, primarily in the renewable energy sector, our team enjoys a variety of projects and tasks, including working on our own equipment, plant and structures, clients’ equipment as well as on-site work. In addition to working in our yard, you could also get out to power stations, dairy sites or work on wellheads, machinery and even boats.
You won’t be pigeon-holed into one task as our team members do it all, sharing the same commitment to quality. You’ll be proud to see tangible results by transforming corroded components to fully protected finishes able to withstand the test of time. Your key tasks can include:
Surface preparation including sandblasting, mechanical cleaning and pressure washing
Applying undercoats and finish coats using the full range of application methods (gravity fed, pressure pot and airless spray guns) and materials
Industrial coatings and corrosion protection
Following detailed QA project documents
About You:
We are proud of the work our people do and the strong reputation for quality and efficiency they have earned with our clients. We seek interest from people who offer proven industrial coatings skills, a high level of customer focus and a commitment to quality procedures and standards. You’ll ideally have experience from within NZ’s energy sector and also bring:
Knowledge and experience of a variety of industrial coatings preparation and application techniques
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in industrial spray painting
Be a collaborative team player, ideally with some supervision experience
Enjoy physical, manual work and be comfortable working in full role-specific PPE
Ability to work extended and flexible hours including periodic travel throughout the central North Island and occasionally outside of the region
With our Wairakei workshop as our home base, our preference is for those currently residing in the Taupo region or planning to relocate. Our standard hours of work are 40 hours per week, between 7.30am and 4pm Monday to Friday, however due to the flexible nature of this work, including extended hours, away travel and weekend work, this position includes paid overtime rates.
