The Role
We are seeking a skilled Industry Development Officer to join OHPSA's Industry Development Team. This dynamic role involves engaging with stakeholders, driving industry growth, and providing expert advice and market intelligence to support South Australia’s hydrogen strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong relationships with industry stakeholders, including project developers, technology providers, investors, and research bodies.
Gather, analyse, and share hydrogen market intelligence across the South Australian Government and stakeholders.
Provide timely and high-quality advice to the Minister for Energy and Mining through briefings, correspondence, and reports.
Contribute to the development and implementation of South Australia’s hydrogen industry growth strategy.
Facilitate industry growth by fostering partnerships between industry, investors, research, and government.
Support OHPSA priority projects by aligning strategies, leveraging relationships, and applying market intelligence.
Monitor and evaluate hydrogen infrastructure investments, market trends, and technological advancements.
Prepare reports, presentations, and data analyses to communicate key developments and opportunities effectively.

The Office of Hydrogen Power SA (OHPSA) is harnessing South Australia’s abundant renewable energy resources to accelerate the growth of South Australia’s hydrogen industry, establish a globally competitive export offer and continue our state’s world leadership in the clean energy transition to safely and sustainable generate the energy and low carbon products of the future.
OHPSA is responsible for several South Australian government priorities including:
delivery Hydrogen Jobs Plan, which will see the development of a world-leading hydrogen-fuelled power station, hydrogen production facility and associated storage in the Upper Spencer Gulf
working with industry partners to deliver the Port Bonython Hydrogen Export Hub project as South Australia's first large-scale export terminal for hydrogen
hydrogen industry development activities to ensure South Australia is at the forefront of renewable hydrogen production.
Growth of South Australia’s hydrogen industry will help to unlock:
the growth of a new economic sector for South Australia
thousands of new jobs for South Australians
enhanced energy system security and reliability
support for new and existing sustainable manufacturing industries
the development of a substantial pipeline of renewable energy projects in South Australia
OHPSA is an attached office to the Department for Energy and Mining.

Selection Criteria:
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate complex issues.
Strategic and critical thinking to manage a high-profile, multi-faceted industry development portfolio.
Commercial acumen and experience working in or with industry.
Proficiency in providing timely, high-quality advice through briefings, speaking points, and other documents.
Self-motivation and the ability to manage competing priorities under tight timeframes.
Expertise in energy systems, markets, and technologies, including hydrogen production, distribution, and use.
Strong IT and data management skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and spreadsheets.

Remuneration:
ASO6, $+8,478 - $104,165 per annum + superannuation
Full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week
Special Conditions:
This is a contract/term vacancy up to 30 June 2027
This position is classified as a designated position and as such, appointment to this role will be subject to a satisfactory National Police Clearance screening check
