Purpose of the Role
As Industry Profile Marketing Manager, you’ll be responsible for building dentsu’s profile and reputation among industry bodies. You’ll do this by entering our best work into awards, promoting our case studies externally and engaging with membership bodies. The work you do will ensure that our core audiences connect with the dentsu brand and understand our distinctiveness as a people-centred transformation business.
You will work alongside the wider business to identify our best work and develop compelling narratives around it, as well as track down emerging initiatives to build a pipeline of activity. You will work closely with the marketing team to develop communications plans to promote our work externally. Importantly, you will ensure that our communications are aligned to our brand messaging and external communications priorities.
Reporting to the External Communications Director, this role will be focused on telling the dentsu story to clients, prospects and talent. You will be joining an in-house marketing and communications team of 20 based in locations across the UK, with broad skills across marketing disciplines.
Key Responsibilities & Skills
Awards strategy and management:
Develop and execute a comprehensive awards strategy that supports our practices and dentsu, aligned to our communications objectives.
Identify relevant industry awards and award-winning work from across dentsu and manage the end-to-end process of award submissions, including coordinating with internal teams to gather information, writing and editing submissions, and meeting deadlines.
Track and report on award submissions and budget, providing insights for continuous improvement.
Case study development:
Collaborate with practices to identify, research, and develop compelling case studies that highlight our success stories and unique value propositions, in particular our integrated work.
Write and edit case studies alongside client leads to ensure they are engaging, informative, and aligned with the company’s brand voice.
Work with the marcomms team to promote case studies through various channels, ensuring they reach the intended audiences.
Industry body and government engagement:
Build and nurture relationships with key industry bodies, government departments, membership organisations to enhance dentsu’s visibility and influence.
Identify and recommend opportunities for strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and speaking engagements that can further dentsu’s industry profile.
Oversee our membership body budget and ensure good return on investment.
Proactively monitor industry trends, events, and news to identify new opportunities for dentsu to engage with industry leaders, government officials, and stakeholders.
Collaborate with the broader marketing team to develop initiatives that leverage these opportunities, enhancing dentsu’s profile and reputation.
Copywriting and editorial:
Lead the creation of high-quality, compelling copy for award submissions, case studies, and other editorial content.
Ensure all written content is consistent with dentsu’s tone of voice and ensure it meets the highest standards of accuracy and clarity.
Edit and proofread materials provided by the wider business, providing constructive feedback and guidance to ensure excellence.
