Job Description
The State Government of Victoria, Australia seeks a highly skilled Information Governance Specialist to manage and ensure the security, integrity, accessibility, and confidentiality of information and records within the Victorian Inspectorate.
This key role is responsible for developing and implementing strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including the Victorian Protective Data Security Standards (VPDSS) and Public Record Office Victoria (PROV) Standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing and maintaining the VI's Information Asset Register, advising staff on classification and management of information assets from creation to disposal
Developing and implementing strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations
Collaborating with ICT and operational colleagues, management, and external stakeholders to identify vulnerabilities, assess risks, and implement appropriate measures for the management of the VI's records
Handling information classified up to SECRET level and held in a secure environment
Requirements:
Relevant tertiary qualification in a discipline such as Information Systems or Business majoring in Information Systems
Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining information and records management systems and frameworks
Knowledge of and ability to apply relevant legislation and standards, including the Public Records Act 1+73 (PROV Standards), Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Victorian Protective Data Security Standards, Protective Data Security Framework, and Information Privacy Principles), and the Protective Security Policy Framework
