This role is based in India and as such all normal working days must be carried out in India.
Join us as an Infrastructure Engineer
• We’ll look to you to develop and implement core infrastructure technologies, products and services against our customer and non-functional requirements
• Day-to-day, you’ll make sure that our infrastructure technology is engineered to comply with security, availability, resilience, performance and capacity
• You’ll collaborate with colleagues across our bank, allowing you to expand your network and gain exposure for you and your work
• We're offering this role at associate vice president level
What you'll do
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll be contributing to and managing the selection, creation and maintenance of the infrastructure technologies that're used to meet the needs of our customers, while ensuring alignment to the Chief Technology Office's strategic targets and architecture outcomes.
Alongside this, you'll be working with our customers, vendors and other technology teams to engineer and build simple, available and scalable public Cloud products that're safe, secure and sustainable.
Your top priorities will include:
• Utilising automation and infrastructure as code to develop, deploy and scale Cloud applications and products with a greater speed, less risk and reduced costs
• Providing operational support to other infrastructure teams in the event of major incidents or complex technical issues
• Building and leveraging relationships with colleagues across our bank to make sure decisions made are commercially-focused and create long-term value
• Fulfilling our business continuity requirements by participating in disaster recovery exercises
• Making sure that decisions are made based on data, return on investment and value measures that demonstrate thoughtful cost management
The skills you'll need
To succeed in this role, you’ll need experience of using public Cloud, including AWS, GCP and Azure, that's evidenced through a professional certification and an understanding of DevOps automation tools, like TeamCity, Terraform IaC, Python, Ansible, Puppet and Gitlab.
Additionally, you'll have a good knowledge across the infrastructure stack, including of servers, operating systems, virtualisation, databases, middleware or networks.
Furthermore, you’ll demonstrate:
• An understanding of IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and Cloud technologies
• Knowledge of software development and good scripting and testing skills
• The ability to relate everyday work to the strategic vision of the feature team, platform and domain
• Experience of using Agile methodologies and toolsets, like Jira
• A background of working in a multi-disciplined matrix team
