Job Description
This position also plays an important role in driving consistent national injury management practices, training frontline leaders, and supporting legislative compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate return-to-work plans in collaboration with medical providers, employees, and operational leaders.
Manage workers compensation claims from lodgement to closure in line with state-based legislation.
Conduct factual investigations for serious or complex injuries, identifying red flags and risk factors.
Provide technical advice to guide strategic claims management and resolution.
Maintain regular contact with the injured worker, treating practitioners, and workplace leaders.
Keep thorough, up-to-date case notes and ensure accurate records in internal systems.
Facilitate insurer file reviews and support the reimbursement process with payroll and finance.
Deliver internal training programs to build manager awareness of injury management responsibilities.
Contribute to national resources including job dictionaries and injury management toolkits.
Support early identification of physical and psychological injuries and advise on proactive response strategies.
What You Will Bring
Experience & Knowledge
1–2 years of experience in claims or injury management.
Sound understanding of NSW/ACT Workers Compensation & Injury Management legislation.
Experience working with insurers, allied health providers, and internal stakeholders.
Familiarity with national injury management processes and compliance standards.
Skills & Attributes
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to build trust and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Well-developed time management and organisational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Capable of conducting investigations, interpreting medical information, and developing return-to-work plans.
Analytical thinking and problem-solving mindset.
High attention to detail and commitment to recordkeeping standards.
