Harris & Partners Inc. is a Licensed Insolvency Trustee (formerly Trustee in Bankruptcy), firm with locations across Canada with over 60 years’ experience in the Bankruptcy, Insolvency and Consulting fields.
We are a team oriented, driven, fast paced environment, and are currently looking for an individual with experience in the Insolvency field to fill the role of Insolvency Administrator – Meeting of Creditors at our Calgary, Alberta Office.
Compensation is industry matching and benefits are available for full-time employees. It is essential that candidates have experience with Microsoft Office, are comfortable learning new software and possess strong communication and teamwork skills. Our people are our greatest asset.
Responsibilities:
Negotiate consumer proposal terms
Chair Meetings of Creditors
Prepare and review legal documentation for accuracy and policy compliance
Review all supporting documentation
Communicate with clients in which their original proposal offers were not accepted with the legal framework and time constraints
Counteroffer negotiations between clients and their creditors
Chairing meeting of creditors, preparing minutes and other relevant documentation
Amending documentation for both accuracy and policy compliance, and filing documentation with the Official Receiver and other stakeholders
Compiling supporting information and documentation to ensure the efficient administration of the file
Reviewing files for completeness and following up on outstanding documents
Comprehension of relevant legal requirements of multiple provincial jurisdictions
Communicate with Official Receiver’s office for issue resolution
Maintain client confidence
Protection of highly confidential information
Work with the Administration Team to obtain information and documents
Requirements:
Mandatory – Fluent in English, written and oral
Mandatory – Experience with Microsoft Office - particularly Outlook
Mandatory – Strong communication skills/strong phone skills
Mandatory - Employees are expected to report to work as scheduled and on time
Mandatory – College/University Education, Insolvency Administrator Certificate is an asset
Highly desirable – Experience in Insolvency Administration
Highly desirable – Ability to adapt to new software quickly/computer skills
Highly desirable - Teamwork skills
Highly desirable - Person with high integrity (we work with sensitive information)
Desirable - 1+ years' office experience
Attention to detail
Organizational skills
Ability to work from 8:30am – 5:00pm Monday – Friday (In-Office)
