Instructor – Health Care Assistant (HCA) & Practical Nursing (PN) Programs
Location: VaCC Burnaby Campus
Start Date: September 8
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM (Evening Classes)
Compensation: $34–$38 per hour
Job Overview
VaCC Burnaby is seeking an experienced and passionate Instructor to deliver engaging classroom and clinical instruction for students in the Health Care Assistant (HCA) and Practical Nursing (PN) programs. This is an evening role offering a dynamic opportunity to support student learning and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver instruction in accordance with the program curriculum
Teach and supervise students in both classroom and clinical settings
Prepare lesson plans and instructional materials
Provide constructive feedback on student performance
Clearly communicate course objectives, assignments, and expectations
Attend departmental and HCA/PN Committee meetings
Participate in curriculum development and evaluation
Maintain accurate student records and submit reports in a timely manner
Support and uphold college policies and procedures
Stay current with industry trends and best practices
Qualifications
Current LPN license in good standing with CLPNBC (BCCNM)
Degree, diploma, or certificate from a recognized institution
Minimum 2 years of relevant industry experience
Instructional experience or teaching certification is an asset
Strong communication, organization, and facilitation skills
Passion for teaching and student success
Ability to work collaboratively with team members and practicum coordinators
Professional, ethical, and student-focused approach
