Job Description
We're looking for someone with experience teaching violin or cello, bonus if you teach both, double bonus points if you have experience with younger children.
Are you a confident muso who likes the idea of inspiring the next generation of kids to fall in love with music? Then this is the job for you! We believe Music is for Everyone & we need you to help us reach as many kids as possible.
Many of our students start in our junior group program & progress to one on one lessons, so we are known for teaching younger children. We need confident & patient teachers, who are able to engage children & get them to enjoy playing music. Our classes are about getting the kids to have fun while they learn the music fundamentals.
We are a business run by musicians, for musicians! We provide a supportive, creative environment for our team, with regular work to support & fit in with your other creative projects! While you are teaching one on one, our Music Director works with our instrumental teachers to provide a structure to deliver the lessons while encouraging our teachers to add their own style to the lessons they lead.
What we need from you & how it works:
- You must be proficient playing violin or cello (if you progress to an audition we'll need you to show us how you'd teach a song to a child)
- You will be working with children, so you need to have a mix of patience & energy!!
- We need 2 to 4 weekday afternoons available, most lessons are from around 3pm-7pm
- Lessons are all in person at our Preston location
- All bookings & payments are taken care of for you, no chasing individual students/parents to pay
- Working with children check (or ability to obtain) is required
- Previous experience working with children is not essential but is an advantage.
We're actively hiring now, with potential students waiting to have a teacher confirmed!
