Experience Range - 4 - 10years
Mandatory Requirement:
• Strong technical underwriting knowledge in non-EB lines.
• Ability to assess complex risks and interpret policy wordings.
• Expertise in the Key LOBs such as Property (Fire & Allied Perils, IAR), Marine (Transit / Open / Import–Export), Liability (D&O, CGL, Product, Professional Indemnity Etc), Engineering (CAR, EAR, MB, EEI), Event Insurance, Cyber, Crime, and Specialty Lines (as applicable)
About the client:
Job Roles and Responsibilities:
• Underwrite new / rollover or renewal proposals in line with underwriting guidelines.
• Analyze risk submissions, proposal forms, claim history, and supporting documents.
• Determine appropriate coverage terms, pricing, deductibles, and limits.
• Coordinate with Insurance companies and internal / external teams for clarifications.
• Issue quotations, endorsements, and policy documentation.
• Support business development with technically sound underwriting inputs.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal underwriting standards.
• Assist in resolving underwriting-related queries and escalations.
· Required Skills & Competencies
• Commercial acumen with focus on profitability and risk selection.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and underwriting systems.
• Good understanding of claims impact on underwriting decisions.
· Qualification and Experience:
• Graduate/Post-Graduate (Insurance broking, Insurance or Risk Management preferred)
• AIII / ACII or equivalent insurance qualifications preferred
• Minimum 4+ years of experience in underwriting
