An exciting opportunity exists to join the Northern Intelligence team, based at Mount Eden Corrections Facility in a permanent full-time role. Reporting to the Intelligence Supervisor, the Intelligence Officer role is part of a small team tasked to provide quality actionable intelligence to support our strategy, Hokai Rangi and help to protect victims, prevent criminal activity and support staff safety.

In the role of Intelligence Officer, you will apply your operational experience to help collect information to help prevent harm and manage future risk, including the prevention and detection of criminal activity in prisons.

Desirable:
A sound understanding of the principles and methodologies of the Intelligence Cycle and intelligence collection plans and processes
The credibility, integrity and personality to establish and maintain strong relationships internal and external to the Department
An inquisitive nature and people skills
Motivated individual who possess a high level of self drive
Experience in interviewing
Knowledge of the legislation governing information collection, storage, dissemination and use.
Ability to work in a team, being responsible for your own tasks and wider joint tasks
Strong oral and written communications skills
Essential:
Full New Zealand driver's licence is required as travel will be a requirement of this role.
The successful applicant must obtain, and maintain, a Secret clearance.

This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary ranges from $85,025 to $92,649 dependant on skills and experience relevant to the role.
