Do you want to prevent crime and harm, and contribute to making New Zealand (NZ) the safest country? As an intelligence professional in the NZ Police this will be your focus every day.

New Zealand Police are currently recruiting for 2 Supervisor positions, one based in Henderson and the other in Ormiston.

Intelligence is an indispensable enabler for NZ Police that touches on every part of what we do. Annually, Police Intelligence produces approximately 50,000 products. Some are short and tactically focussed, supporting day-to-day decisions. While other intelligence products are more in-depth with a longer-term focus aiding the development of long-term operational plans and organisational strategy.

We are looking for people who are self-motivated, innovative, inquisitive, committed to excellence, resilient, and firmly focussed on enhancing decision-making within NZ Police.

Area Intelligence Units provide direct support to tactical and operational Police decision-making, to prevent crime and harm at the local level. These teams provide insight into the nature of crime and harm by identifying trends, and forecasting future threats, risks, and opportunities. Area Intelligence Units operate in a dynamic environment providing support to frontline policing including operations, criminal investigations, and offender management.

Key Accountabilities:
Lead the day-to-day activities of the team, overseeing the development and delivery of intelligence products to support organisational decision making.
Engage positively with internal and external stakeholders, agencies, and community groups.

Consider and champion diversity, different perspectives, and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in all intelligence outputs.
Manage competing demands and implement strategies to maximise effectiveness and mitigate service delivery risk.
Provide technical guidance in Intelligence analysis tools/methodologies.
