Job Description
Roles & Responsibility • Installation and Configuration of SQL Server Instance. • Upgrading the Servers and applying the Service Packs and Hot fixes. • Handling Production, UAT & Dev servers for SQL Monitoring day to day tickets, assigning then to resolve per SLA. • Creating logins and user as per application team request. • Providing Security by giving access permission to users at various levels. • As per user request working on database refreshment. • Identifying, Analyzing and Resolving performance issues of the server. • Monitoring SQL Server performance by finding deadlocks and blocking • Monitoring the performance of the servers as per checklist. • Planning & Performing Backups and Restoring of the databases. • Experience in Point-in-Time DB Recovery and Page Corruptions. • Scheduling and maintaining maintenance plan, job and alerts. • Reviewing SQL server and SQL Server Agent Error Logs. • Creating Indexes to improve performance for Dev/App team request SQL Server Skills • Installing, Configuring SQL Servers and applying SP's. • Installations like Slipstream, SYSPREP, Unattended and INI based. • Creating Logins, Users and managing Roles & User permissions. • Ensuring periodical Backups and knowledge on all SQL Native Backups. • System Databases Recovery like Master, Model & MSDB. • Creating and maintaining scheduled jobs, maintenance plans. • DB level HA/DR such as Log Shipping, Mirroring, Always On AG. • Instance level HA/DR Active-Active/Active-Passive clustering and applying hot fixes and SP's using Rolling Upgrade. • Side by Side Migration and In-Place upgrade of SQL Server. • Informing application teams about resolving Blocking/Deadlock issues. • Performing maintenance tasks like Clustered Index, Non-Clustered Index and identifying/fixing Fragmentation by Re-Org/Rebuild. • Experienced in DBCC, DMV commands to improve the performance and knowledge on DDL, DML, DRL, DCL, TCL and Store procedures. • Hands on Experience in applying Service packs on SQL Servers and applied Service on cluster instance. • Worked and fixed on MSI and MSP file missing issues while applying service packs
