Job Summary:
The Interior Architect is responsible for designing and developing interior spaces that are functional, aesthetically pleasing, and aligned with client needs and building regulations. This role bridges architecture and interior design, focusing on spatial planning, materials, lighting, structural details, and interior finishes to create cohesive environments that enhance user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Concept Development: Create innovative design concepts and spatial layouts based on client requirements, brand identity, and functional goals.
Space Planning: Develop floor plans, elevations, sections, and detailed drawings that optimize space utilization and flow.
Material & Finish Selection: Specify interior materials, furnishings, lighting, colors, and textures that meet aesthetic, sustainability, and budget standards.
Technical Documentation: Produce detailed construction drawings, joinery details, and 3D visualizations using CAD/BIM software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, etc.).
Coordination: Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other consultants to ensure design intent is maintained throughout construction.
Project Management: Oversee project timelines, budgets, and quality control during design and implementation phases.
Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with building codes, accessibility standards, and safety regulations.
Client Interaction: Present design concepts, mood boards, and material samples to clients, incorporating feedback into final designs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Architecture, Architecture, or Interior Design.
Proven experience (typically 3–7 years) in interior architecture or similar roles.
Proficiency in design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite).
Strong understanding of construction methods, detailing, and materials.
Excellent visualization, communication, and presentation skills.
Knowledge of sustainable design principles is a plus.
