Key Responsibilities:
• Client Interaction & Briefing:
• Engage with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and budget constraints.
• Conduct site visits to assess the space and gather relevant information for design considerations.
• Present design concepts, mood boards, and material samples to clients for approval.
• Design Development:
• Develop comprehensive interior design plans, including floor layouts, space planning, furniture selection, and color schemes.
• Create detailed 2D and 3D visualizations using design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit).
• Collaborate with architects and engineers to integrate interior designs with structural elements.
• Material & Product Selection:
• Research and recommend appropriate materials, finishes, fixtures, and furniture that meet the project's design and functional requirements.
• Work with suppliers and vendors to source and procure materials within the project’s budget and timeline.
• Project Management:
• Coordinate with project managers to ensure that designs are executed according to the approved plans and within the specified timeline.
• Oversee the installation of design elements and resolve any on-site issues that may arise during the fit-out process.
• Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Budget Management:
• Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring design solutions are cost-effective without compromising on quality.
• Track expenses and provide regular updates to clients and management on project financials.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work closely with the construction team, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure seamless integration of design and construction activities.
• Lead and mentor junior designers or interns, providing guidance on design techniques and best practices.
• Documentation & Reporting:
• Maintain accurate and organized records of all design processes, including drawings, specifications, and change orders.
• Provide regular progress reports to clients and senior management.
Required Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial interior design, preferably within a fit-out or construction company.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite). Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and construction processes.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and client management skills. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
