Job Title: Interior Draughtsman
Department: Interior Design / Architecture
Reports To: Senior Interior Designer / Design Manager

Position Overview
The Interior Draughtsman is responsible for translating design concepts into precise, technical drawings that guide interior construction and installation. This role requires strong technical expertise in drafting software, deep understanding of interior detailing, and the ability to collaborate with designers, architects, engineers, and execution teams. The ideal candidate should possess exceptional attention to detail, spatial understanding, and the ability to deliver accurate drawings within timelines.
Key Responsibilities
1. Drafting & Design Documentation
Prepare detailed 2D drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and detailed shop drawings.
Convert conceptual design sketches into professional technical drawings.
Develop working drawings, joinery details, electrical and plumbing layouts (as required), and material specifications.
Create as-built drawings post project completion.
2. Coordination & Collaboration
Liaise with interior designers, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure design intent is accurately represented.
Coordinate with vendors, carpenters, and site supervisors for drawing clarifications.
Attend project meetings and site visits for measurements and verification.
3. Quality Control & Compliance
Ensure drawings comply with company standards, industry codes, and local regulations.
Maintain accuracy in dimensions, scale, materials, and technical details.
Review and revise drawings based on feedback from design leads or project managers.
4. Documentation & File Management
Maintain proper documentation of all drawings and revisions.
Prepare drawing issue sheets and ensure version control.
Organize project files for easy reference and auditing.
5. Software Proficiency & Technical Skills
Prepare drawings using AutoCAD (mandatory), SketchUp / Revit (added advantage), and other drafting tools.
Utilize 3D modeling software for visualization when required.
Apply knowledge of interior materials, joinery details, furniture standards, and finishes.
Required Qualifications
Education:
Diploma / ITI in Draughtsmanship (Civil/Interior) or
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design / Architecture (preferred but not mandatory)
Work Experience:
2–5+ years of experience as an Interior Draughtsman in interior design, architecture, or construction industry.
Experience in residential, commercial, hospitality, or retail projects is a strong advantage.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D essential; 3D preferred)
Working knowledge of SketchUp, Revit, or similar software
Understanding of interior detailing, joinery, carpentry drawings, and MEP coordination
Strong knowledge of materials, fittings, and interior execution processes
