Intermediate Classroom Support and Prep Teaching Position
School District 10 (Arrow Lakes) has the following continuing contract teaching position for the 2026-2026 school year:
Position: Intermediate Classroom Support and Prep Teacher
School: Nakusp Elementary School
FTE: 1.0 - Continuing
Effective: September 2, 2026
Salary Range: $63,1+2 - $112,685
School District 10, in the beautiful West Kootenay region of southeastern BC is situated on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Sinixt Peoples. Required characteristics / strengths include:
A valid Teaching Certificate from the BC Teacher Regulation Branch
Post-secondary education, experience, specialization and pedagogical knowledge in literacy and numeracy, universal design for learning (UDL), diversity/ inclusive education, social emotional learning (SEL), and self-regulation.
Demonstrated ability in planning and designing engaging learning activities using BC curriculum
Strong interpersonal skills and strengths working within a team environment
Excellent classroom management skills and proven ability to engage all learners
Excellent ability to differentiate for all learners and co-plan for diversity and engagement
Successful experience integrating socio-emotional learning and self-regulated learning
Demonstrated understanding of indigenous cultures, and experience integrating First Peoples of Principles of Learning into teaching practice
Successful experience in facilitating outdoor learning experiences with a focus on place consciouses and cross curricular learning
Commitment to co-developing the School Growth Plan and collaboratively organizing for learning
Exemplary use of assessment strategies that engage learners and foster learning
Professional learning inquiry experience that informs professional practice
Commitment and expertise in building relationships with parents and community
Willingness to participate in the school's extra-curricular programs will be an asset
