Position Overview
We’re looking for an intermediate designer to join the New Product Development team at ZURU Edge. You are a natural collaborator and a hands-on designer who can execute across new and existing brands to a high standard.

You’ll work closely with brand strategists, product developers, and marketers to bring concepts to life from brief to shelf, keeping the creative intent intact at every step. At ZURU, designers are not siloed; you’ll be a core voice in the room, shaping how our brands look and feel across global markets.

Roles & Responsibilities
Brand & Packaging Design
Create design concepts for packaging, brand assets, and print materials, demonstrating creative problem solving and exploring multiple directions as a response to a supplied brief.
Set up artwork on dielines, set up files accurately and create mock-ups for review.
Conduct colour testing, proofing, and adjustments as needed.
Create presentations in Figma to communicate brand concepts.
Provide support on additional design tasks for packaging and branding projects.
Design Craft & Iteration
Create diverse, high-quality designs that achieve task objectives while adhering to brand guidelines for consistency in typography, color schemes, and design elements. Stay detail-oriented and open to feedback, making necessary revisions to improve quality across multiple iterations, ensuring a unified brand identity and a final result that meets project specifications.
Conceptualisation & Collaboration
Collaborate seamlessly within the design team to brainstorm and develop design concepts and ideas for projects. Work with team members in the wider ZURU business to understand project requirements and deliver designs that align with the company's objectives - preserving creative intent from concept to product line.
Creative Immersion
Deeply engage with trends in the FMCG industry, our product categories, packaging, and brand design, as well as our brand landscapes. Utilize this knowledge to produce well-informed, innovative creative solutions, ensuring each design reflects industry insights and brand identity, contributing to compelling design outcomes.
Task & Time Management
Ensure that best practices are followed in file management, obtaining necessary approvals, setting up files correctly, and adhering to brand guidelines. Maintain high standards in organization and design accuracy to support the overall brand integrity. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Skills & Experience
3 or more years industry experience in a similar role
A trendhunter with a great eye; a lover of the worlds of fashion and beauty.
A relevant qualification in Graphic Design from a tertiary level institute or similar
Fluent in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Figma
Understanding of print production, packaging materials, and design-to-production workflows
Great attention to detail, file management, and timeliness with tasks; ability to self-manage with strong problem-solving skills
Good communication and presentation skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
