We’re looking for an Inventory Analyst to join our Finance Planning & Analysis team based in the 2777 Kingsway office in Vancouver, BC. This individual will report to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis.
Job Overview:
The Inventory Analyst is responsible for inventory accuracy and inventory control processes within the organization, focusing on either manufacturing operations (raw materials, packaging, bulk materials, finished goods) or retail operations (finished goods at retail stores and warehouses). The Inventory Analyst works closely with production or store teams to investigate variances, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and support ERP/WMS and MRP processes to ensure informed supply chain and business decisions.
You will have the opportunity to:
Inventory Controls
Audit and improve inventory control processes to drive accuracy and continuous improvement.
Recommend industry best practices and optimize inventory management across impacted departments.
Analyze cycle count results, adjust inventory as required, and manage shortdated, excess, and obsolete materials.
Work Orders & Inventory Transactions
Investigate inventory discrepancies and transactions to maintain system accuracy.
Monitor work order completion and maintain planned orders to support accurate MRP requirements.
Reporting & Analysis
Maintain accurate system data to support forecasting, purchasing, and production needs.
Develop and recommend annual, monthly, and weekly cycle count strategies.
Support physical and periodic inventory counts and report on orphaned and excess inventory.
Analyze processes and identify opportunities to reduce manual work, improve efficiency, and increase accuracy.
You will be a good fit if you have:
Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, planning, scheduling
Relevant education in Operations Management is an asset
Experience using Power BI, Syteline (ERP), WMS
Ability to do root cause analysis
Strong attention to detail and ability to apply due diligence
Analytical skills to analyze, identify opportunities, and implement process improvements
Preferred skills:
Knowledge of GMP’s in a food manufacturing environment
Previous experience with inventory management in a retail-based environment
Working towards a professional supply chain certification (APICS, SCMP)
