Job Description
• Inventory Management: Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all IT assets including computers, servers, network equipment, software licenses, and peripherals. Ensure accuracy in asset records and perform regular audits.
• Procurement Coordination: Work with vendors and procurement teams to order new IT equipment and software. Track orders and ensure timely delivery of assets. Manage inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
• Asset Tracking: Implement and maintain systems for tracking the lifecycle of IT assets from acquisition to disposal. Utilize asset management tools and software to monitor asset status and location.
• Documentation and Reporting: Create and manage documentation related to IT assets, including purchase orders, asset tags, and disposal records. Generate reports on inventory status, asset utilization, and other key metrics as required.
• Asset Deployment: Coordinate the deployment of IT assets to employees, ensuring that equipment is set up, configured, and functioning correctly. Assist with the installation and setup of hardware and software.
• Disposal and Recycling: Manage the disposal of obsolete or non-functional IT equipment in compliance with company policies and environmental regulations. Ensure secure data destruction and proper recycling of assets.
• Support and Troubleshooting: Assist IT staff and end-users with issues related to IT assets. Provide support for asset-related queries and troubleshoot inventory discrepancies.
• Compliance and Security: Ensure that all IT assets are compliant with company policies and industry regulations. Maintain security standards related to asset management and data protection.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify and recommend improvements to inventory management processes and tools. Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies related to asset management.
Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, CompTIA A+) are a plus.
• Experience: 2+ years of experience in IT asset management or inventory control, preferably in a corporate or large organizational setting.
