RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Clinical Manager (or delegate), the Inventory Control Coordinator will ensure the efficient and effective operation and maintenance of the Perioperative Services with non-stock supplies and equipment for use in the provision of surgical patient care – including, but not limited to, investigating and maintaining inventory levels and adapting current inventory best practices.
Liaise with MDRD Supervisor(s) and Service Nurses to ensure communication of upcoming procedures and supply related issues, as required
Organize repairs for all equipment by contacting the appropriate supplier, arranging for shipping (if required), keeping track of equipment repaired and returned, and maintaining an accurate repair history for each equipment item
Review, initiate, and provide cost effective processing and acquisition related to goods and equipment used in the Perioperative Services Operation Room (OR).
Provide detailed and complex analysis of products and services utilizing database tools and information to project financials for stakeholders
Coordinate and organize Trials and Evaluations of supplies and equipment with clients and vendors
Monitor contract performance, outstanding orders, returns, recalls, safety alerts, receiving and invoicing issues relating to purchasing
Assist in planning acquisitions to meet the Perioperative Services requirements, provide information on new products/service and market conditions, work to resolve issues, enhance service and cost effectiveness
Identify and resolve any purchasing/inventory problems and provide a high level of expertise and customer service.

REQUIREMENTS:
Requires post-secondary education with a concentration in business
Minimum of three (3) years experience in materials management in a hospital environment and and additional two (2) years experience in purchasing with a strong emphasis in peri-operative and medical/surgical procurement activity
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Supply Chain Management Professional Designation
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, Meditech, and web-based applications
Ability to import data sources into different tools for analysis
Strong ethical and customer service focused skills
Demonstrated organizational skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, ability to effectively communicate and negotiate in both oral and written form
Ability to work in a cooperative team environment with a strong emphasis on networking; to work independently; to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines with minimal supervision
