Be at the heart of ensuring every drop counts. Our Three Waters team is dedicated to managing the vital drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure that keeps our community thriving. We’re looking for an organised, detail-driven Inventory Controller to ensure our parts, tools, and equipment are exactly where they need to be — when they’re needed most.

About the role:

As our Inventory Controller, you’ll be the go-to person for managing and optimising stock across multiple sites. From ordering and receiving supplies to tracking usage and maintaining accurate records, you’ll keep our operations flowing smoothly.

Your day-to-day will include:

Maintaining accurate inventory records in our management system

Monitoring stock levels and forecasting needs

Coordinating with suppliers and contractors for timely deliveries

Conducting regular stock takes and audits

Ensuring health & safety procedures are followed in all storage areas

Be part of a team that directly supports essential water services for our community

Work in a role where precision and problem-solving make a real difference

This is a full-time position; however, we’re open to discussing reduced hours if that better suits your needs.

Qualifications

NCEA level 2 as a minimum

Tertiary qualification in logistics, business administration, or similar preferred.

Minimum of 3 years technical experience in three Water maintenance or warehouse administration, industrial, inventory analysis and stores management.

Knowledge of inventory management software and understanding of inventory management practices such as ABC analysis and cycle counting would be useful.

Good analytical and logistical thinking abilities.

Experience in entering and accessing technical information into business and corporate data systems.

Proven verbal and written reporting skills

Communicates information in a way that increases understanding of issues and builds positive relationships with groups

Ability to effectively manage time and meet multiple deadlines

Technical ability to understand and follow processes and procedures.

Good communication and observation skills with an eye for detail.

Strong organisational skills and planning

Ability to identify and propose risk mitigation measures

Understanding of Health and Safety Law and practices

Current Clean full drivers’ license (Class 1)

Forklift License (F endorsement)
