JOB DESCRIPTION:
BHC is looking for a brilliant Investment Analyst to join its investing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a boutique IB based out of Pink City "Jaipur".
• Reporting to an MD, the Investment Analyst will have significant involvement in all aspects of the investment process, including deep explorations, deals generation and due diligence. This position’s responsibilities will include:
• Synthesize comprehensive and cogent startups and technologies maps in Strategic Spaces based on deep analysis of relevant market and technology trends reports, with the goal to identify and recommend next Strategic Spaces and curated investment opportunities to consider
• Regularly update lists of investors with updates on their latest activities and investments, as well as of potential sector-based investors that would be suitable partners to co-invest with in future first or follow-on financing rounds.
• Document relevant and up-to-date information from trusted sources in the CRM system related to all startups in Strategic Spaces, highlighting key learning and next steps to consider when appropriate
• Support Associates and Seniors in due diligence activities by providing assistance on financial modelling, market research, IP analysis, customer calls, and technology analyses
• Manage deal flow funnel and manage interactions with entrepreneurs, venture capitalist partners, other associate partners
• Create presentation materials for investment committee review, articulating investment theses, and highlighting key transaction considerations and unique insights
• Participating in all aspects of due diligence, including financial modelling, business and competitive analysis, deal structuring, and customer and management reference calls
• Supporting the firm’s internal reporting, business development opportunities, and add-ons
QUALIFICATIONS
• A minimum of Bachelor’s in Business, Finance, Economics or a closely related field.
• Candidates holding a Master’s degree in Finance or MBA with 1-3 years of experience are also welcome to apply.
• Great to see some relevant professional experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as sound business judgment to identify and scout promising ventures according to the need of investors.
• Ability to work successfully in multicultural teams and across boundaries and time zones
• Proactive, initiative taker with strong teamwork skills
• Ability to manage and complete multiple projects/tasks simultaneously and to meet deadlines under pressure
• Enthusiasm for emerging markets and commitment to supporting sustainable development
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills including corporate/project finance, data analysis, market assessment, industry and regulatory analysis.
• Ability to develop complex financial models ; Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and database skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are a must.
• Make Smart Decisions - Leverages available data and makes timely decisions.
• Some experience in a financial institution, particularly in investment projects.
• Ability to analyze and synthesize debt pricing benchmarks and equity trading comparable.
• Demonstrated skill in financial statement analysis, accounting, finance, financial modeling, DCF and comparable company analysis to support informed decision making.
• Ability to demonstrate attention to detail, thoughtful scenarios analysis and diligence in the quality of own work.
• Ability to gather and assess relevant data to facilitate the assessment of credit and non-financial risks associated to projects.
• Ability to form relationships with counterparts and mid-level clients and stakeholders to exchange information needed.
• Basic understanding of how specific investments in different industries and sectors impact economic, market and social development, and how to use mapping methodology to assess market conditions
