We're on the lookout for a talented individual to join our Canadian Real Estate Investment Banking team as an Investment Banking Associate based in Toronto. This exciting opportunity will expose you to a wide variety of clients, financial services and products. You will work on various integrated teams comprised of capital markets, corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions professionals that will provide you with the necessary skills to succeed in Investment Banking.
As an Associate in Investment Banking:
You'll work under the direction of a senior officer and with other experienced professionals, helping to generate ideas, advise clients and execute transactions.
Job Description
How You Will Contribute:
Research and analyze clients' financial situations, industry and market data, identify, research and analyze mergers and acquisition opportunities;
Develop valuation models of individual private and public companies, as well as merged entities;
Assist with client negotiations and documentation;
Prepare external client proposals and internal underwriting memos;
Prepare and contribute to the delivery of client presentations;
Aid senior team members with idea generation;
Manage and review the work of analysts; and,
Develop internal relationships in order to leverage products and services provided by TDBG.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree
Minimum 2 years' experience in Investment Banking or other relevant industries (corporate development, private equity, real estate)
Advanced Excel skills and experience with discounted cash flow and sensitivity analysis, as well as modeling strongly preferred
Applicant should be proactive, highly motivated, well-organized, detail oriented and able to work under pressure and tight deadlines
Applicant is a strong team player, able to contribute to a high-performance team while also working independently
Applicant should have strong verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills
Nice-To-Have
Prior real estate experience
Master of Business Administration (MBA), CA and/or CFA designation are considered strong assets
FIINRA SIE and Series 7+ licenses
