Job Description
As the Inwards Goods Assistant, you are the first point of contact for all incoming stock. You will ensure that everything arriving at our facility is accurately checked, logged, and moved to the correct location efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure all stock is efficiently unloaded in a timely fashion while ensuring health and safety standards are met.
Break down all orders and mark off the stock appropriately.
Put away stock in correct locations and ensure departments are aware of deliveries as they arrive. Ensure appropriate rotation of stock if placing stock in storeroom locations.
Assist in controlling all Inwards Goods Costs. Assists in managing stock & credits in a timely and tidy fashion to minimize waste and reduce loss. Process all claims for credit with the appropriate suppliers.
Assist in maintaining OSH Compliance in the Inwards Area. Ensure appropriate maintenance is maintained on the forklift and pallet jacks as appropriate. Ensure all appropriate safety signage is displayed correctly.
Maintain the security of the rear door in conjunction with the Inwards Goods Supervisor as per company guidelines.
As delegated / required assist Buyer with any Stock or count data related issues.
Ensure the inwards goods area is always kept clean and tidy.
Check forklifts and pallet jacks for servicing requirements on a regular basis.

Flexibility to work all days of the week. Saturday rotation required (one Saturday a month).
