Role Description

The Divisional Control Officer (DCO) is responsible for the regulatory steering, the oversight and management of Non-Financial Risks (NFR) within the respective division. The DCO team ensures end-to-end NFR management aligned to DB Group strategy and in accordance with relevant regulations and laws. DCO has the responsibility to ensure that IPB proactively manages its operational risks and regulatory requirements including a defined control agenda monitoring risks relative to OR appetite, promoting risk awareness and driving 'lessons learned' and the 'read-across' processes. DCO is organised in 3 main areas: regional coverage, product coverage and central functions. Within the product coverage, the DCO PPSS and A&S covers the corresponding IPB ExCo areas:
• IPB Product Platforms and Sustainable Solutions (PPSS) is responsible for developing an innovative product management platform and for developing the sustainable solutions across the IPB product platform to deliver top quality products and services to all IPB client segments globally; PPSS also includes the capital markets teams responsible for trade execution
• IPB Advisory and Sales (A&S) is accountable for driving the distribution of investment and deposit solutions to IPB clients globally as well as for a coordinated and effective partnership across the Bank in serving our most sophisticated clients.

Further, the team closely interacts with PPSS, A&S and 2nd Line of Defence (2LOD) stakeholders (like Compliance and Legal) to ensure IPB and DB standards with regard to Suitability & Appropriateness (Client & Product) and Product Lifecycle (i.e. New Product Approval and Systematic Product Review) are defined, met and adhered to and recommendations

Your key responsibilities

The Divisional Risk and Control Analyst reports the DCO IPB PPSS und A&S and supports him and team in designing, implementing and overseeing primarily A&S specific control aspects and governance aspects. She/he supports the team with among other the following
• Assist in designing and improving global control processes in areas of responsibility as well as supporting the team in the periodic risk and control assessment process
• Support in execution of non-financial risk topics including control and conduct topics as well as in preparing governance meetings and establishing MI reporting
• Produce and deliver non-financial Risk Dashboard
• Document and maintain various policies, manuals and internal procedures pertaining to non-financial topics
• Develop subject matter expertise on non-financial controls within the remit of the team (with specific focus on Suitability & Appropriateness and Product Lifecycle
• Coordinate with a diverse set of stakeholders across 1LOD and 2LOD to help completion of NFR tasks and activities
• Support with implementation of new control requirements
• Ensure that any sensitive issues are escalated promptly with sound analysi

Your skills and experience

Education & Experience:
• Knowledge of non-financial risks and controls
• Knowledge of new product approval and periodic product review processes
• Experience of working with controls processes
• Relevant experience in the Retail Banking / Private Banking sector or experience in financial services or consultancy (with Private Banking experience preferred but not essential)
• Experience working on small to medium scale projects at least within a global environment
• University degree

• Very strong analytical skills (quantitative and qualitative)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs; e.g. Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Ability to work in pressurised situations
• Strong work ethic, commitment to excel and proven capacity to work effectively with limited supervision
• Strong communication (written and verbal) and relationship skills
• Ability to clearly articulate and present supported topics
• Excellent command of the English language (written and spoken skills)
