IPM Technician

The IPM (Integrated Pest Management) Technician, under the direction of the Master Grower and/or Alternate Master Grower, is primarily responsible for the pest identification, control, prevention, and removal of pests and pathogens on our ******** crops. This position is responsible for completing and executing all IPM procedures and fulfilling the IPM program for the Paris campus Cultivation/Grow department while adhering to strict organization policies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Perform monitoring and record keeping of all pest and disease pressure in all crops

Investigate alternate methods of control and incorporate biologicals and order as required

Conduct scouting activities to identify various types of crop pests, plant viruses, bacteria, and fungi

Ensure all beneficial biologicals are introduced effectively as preventative and/or curative application

Perform removal of damaged ******** material if necessary

Adhere to growing schedules and report deviations from established procedures to Lead Grow Technician and/or Alternate Master Grower

Clean and sanitize work area as required

Cross training may be required for Cultivation/Grow tasks as needed

Spray plants regularly according to schedule with approved PCPs for use on ******** plants

Routinely check the approved Health Canada list of products to ensure compliancy

Monitor and record room data including temperature, humidity, CO2 levels, and light intensity

Comply with all relevant legislation surrounding ******** production in accordance with Health Canada and the ******** Regulations

Adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety regulations

Other duties as assigned

ROLE REQUIREMENTS/ABILITIES

Experience / Education

High school diploma/GED

Post-secondary degree/diploma in related field preferred

Cannabis or greenhouse industry experience would be considered an asset

Completion of the Ontario Pesticide Training and Certification program

1-2 years experience in pesticides and pest management in a grow setting (indoor, outdoor, or greenhouse)

Health Canada Regulations

Physical Demands

Using manual dexterity repeatedly

Extended periods of stooping, bending, kneeling, walking, and standing Lifting, moving, or manipulating objects up to 25 kilograms.

Working while wearing PPE equipment (Company supplied uniform, lab coat, respirator, face mask, hair net, hard hat, gloves, safety shoes)

Good balance and hand-eye coordination

Working Conditions

Constant exposure to the smell of cannabis

Flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed

Working in an environment subject to frequent changes in temperature, humidity, and light exposure

Working in a busy environment with frequent interruptions

Use of required personal protective equipment

Working above and below shoulder height

Working in tight spaces

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
