IS&T Business Partner and Domain Management – Health Safety Environment and Security

Are you ready to shape the future of digital transformation in health, safety, environment, and security (HSES)? We’re seeking a strategic and influential leader to join our team as a key partner in delivering high-impact technology outcomes. This role sits at the heart of a dynamic, virtual two-in-a-box model—working closely with a counterpart from the HSES function to align business priorities with delivery teams and drive meaningful change.
As a trusted facilitator and advisor, you’ll navigate a complex stakeholder landscape, manage competing priorities, and help steer a refreshed digital strategy. While this is an individual contributor role, you’ll provide indirect leadership to a team of 10–15 people, guiding initiatives that enhance safety and operational excellence across Rio Tinto.
About the role
Manage the business relationship between business leaders and IS&T, ensuring alignment of technology initiatives, product/services with business strategies.
Develop and maintain deep knowledge of business priorities, market trends, and competitive challenges.
Foster relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation, promoting trust and collaboration.
Advocate for business needs within IT, ensuring digital initiatives support operational efficiency and aligns with strategic priorities.
Accountable for domain’s digital roadmap and alignment with business objectives.
Accountable for domain’s performance (cost and quality).
Partner with Product / Platform / Project Managers to translate business needs into technology solutions and ensure appropriate prioritisation.
Assist in defining business cases for IT investments, evaluating potential ROI and strategic impact.
Drive technology adoption and business value realisation, ensuring IT solutions deliver measurable outcomes.

HSE Literacy - strong understanding of HSE processes and language is preferred. Functional knowledge is essential to effectively partner with HSE leaders.
