IT Consultant (Client-Facing) – Hybrid | Seattle Area
EXP Technical is hiring IT Consultants to join our growing team in the Greater Seattle Area.
This is a client-facing, hybrid role for IT professionals who enjoy hands-on technical work and building relationships with the people who own and run local, small and mid-sized organizations.
About EXP Technical - Serving People Through Technology
EXP Technical provides consulting-focused IT services to small and mid-size clients in Western Washington. We can provide a complete outsourced IT department or augment our clients existing IT team.
We believe technology exists to serve people, not the other way around.
Position Summary
As an IT Consultant, you will:
Own technical relationships with a set of clients
Provide hands-on, day to day support and consultation
Build and manage relationships with the clients you work with
Balance proactive IT management with reactive support
Deliver the EXP client service experience aligned with values and standards.
This role is ideal for someone who wants variety, autonomy, and meaningful client relationships—not just ticket driven IT work.
What You’ll Do
Serve as the primary IT consultant for assigned clients
Provide support across desktops, servers, networking, and cloud services
Plan and execute projects (M365 migrations, server upgrades, security improvements)
Create and maintain accurate client documentation
Develop and review Annual Technology Plans and IT budgets
Communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders
Collaborate with teammates on standards, tools, and best practices
Contribute to internal documentation and knowledge sharing

This is a hybrid role. Working on-site at client offices, from our Seattle office, and from home in the same day is common. Local candidates only.
Technical Experience
We are looking for experienced IT Professionals with the following skills
Strong Microsoft 365 administration and configuration skills
Strong Windows Server administration skills (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP)
Good knowledge of Virtualization administration and configuration (VMware ESXi, Hyper‑V)
Solid knowledge of Security Tools (Firewalls, MFA, EDR/MDR)
Solid knowledge of Backup solutions
Networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN, routing, switching)
Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure
NOTE: We hire Consultants at multiple levels. If you meet most, but not all of the above, we encourage you to apply.
Experience & Education
Typically 5+ years of professional IT experience
Experience in IT Consulting/MSP/TSP preferred
Client-facing or consulting experience strongly preferred
Associate degree or higher in a technology-related field or equivalent experience
Microsoft 365 and/or Azure certifications are a plus
Requirements
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Reliable vehicle and current auto insurance
Ability to work in client environments (lifting, crouching, typical IT equipment handling)
Background check required
