IT Infrastructure / Network / Desktop Support
Location: Houston, TX 77024
Type: Contract
Experience: 3–6 years
Overview:
Seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure & Support Technician to maintain a resilient hospital technology environment. This role provides frontline desktop, device, and network support to clinical and administrative staff and ensures high availability for clinical systems and connected medical devices.
Responsibilities:
Provide desktop support including installation, configuration, and repair of desktops/laptops, WOWs (Workstations on Wheels), printers, badge readers, and VoIP phones.
Support network operations including L2/L3 switching, routing, wireless AP deployment, site surveys, and troubleshooting.
Ensure proper connectivity of medical devices and interfaces with EHR systems.
Maintain IDF/MDF/BDF closets, including UPS redundancy, patching, hardware lifecycle, and equipment inventory.
Monitor and resolve incidents with clinical urgency; create knowledge base articles and document resolutions in ServiceNow.
Support network migrations and large-scale device deployments.
Required Qualifications:
3–6 years of experience in IT infrastructure, network, and desktop/device support.
Prior experience in hospital or clinical IT environments strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of Windows OS; basic Linux familiarity.
Solid understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, Wi-Fi concepts, and troubleshooting methodologies.
Experience working with large node counts and network migration activities.
Ability to triage and resolve issues in fast-paced clinical settings.
Tools & Technologies:
Networking: Aruba, Brocade, Meraki (MR/MS), Aerohive, Aruba Central, Aruba ClearPass.
Security & Firewalls: Palo Alto, Panorama.
Monitoring & Management: SolarWinds, Splunk, Infoblox, VMware, Ekahau, EcoStruxure.
ITSM: ServiceNow.
