Job Description
• Stay updated on global privacy regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, DPDPA, and other relevant data protection laws.
• Interpret and apply these regulations to the client’s data processing activities to ensure compliance.
• Provide expert advice to business and technology teams on compliance requirements under various privacy regulations.
• Lead and conduct Privacy Impact Assessments to evaluate the potential privacy risks associated with new or existing projects, processes, and technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and document data protection and privacy risks.
• Identify and assess privacy risks related to data processing activities, including data collection, storage, transfer, and sharing, risks related to data breaches, unauthorized access, and non-compliance with privacy regulations.
• Assess the likelihood and impact of identified risks on the client’s operations, reputation, and compliance obligations.
• Work closely with client business and technology teams to develop and recommend risk mitigation strategies that address identified privacy risks.
• Ensure that proposed mitigation strategies are practical, effective, and aligned with the client’s risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
• Develop, review, and update the client’s privacy policies to ensure alignment with current legal and regulatory requirements.
• Design and deliver privacy training programs to educate employees on their responsibilities related to data protection and privacy.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for privacy-related matters, engaging with Client stakeholders such as legal, compliance, IT, and business units.
• Assist in the client’s response to data breaches and other privacy incidents, ensuring timely and effective communication with relevant stakeholders.
• Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the development of corrective action plans to prevent future incidents.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements in the event of a data breach, including timely notification to data protection authorities and affected individuals.
• Lead or support privacy audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of the client’s privacy controls and practices.
• Work effectively as a team member, sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication and updating senior team members on progress
• Develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel.
• Actively contribute to improving operational efficiency on projects and internal initiatives.
• Assist in creating innovative insights for clients, adapt methods and practices to fit operational team needs, contribute to thought leadership documents and develop new methodologies.
• Understand and follow workplace policies and procedures
• Travel to client location for the project delivery
Desired skills:
• 3-5 years experience (preferably in consulting environment)
• Strong knowledge of information security and privacy concepts, risk and controls concepts
• Good knowledge of IT risk and control / audit environment
• Strong knowledge of any standards such as ISO 27001/2, ISO 27701, NIST 800-53 etc.
• Good understanding of IT Management Frameworks such as COBIT, ITIL and regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, DPDPA etc.
• Excellent business communication skills, proficient in reporting and documentation
• Ability to deliver work within tight timescales, to budget and to a high quality
• Demonstrate attention to detail
• ISO 27701 Lead Auditor and Lead Implementer preferred
• CIPM/CIPPE certifications desirable
