ITS Vice Presidency Context:

Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) enables the WBG to achieve its mission of ending extreme poverty and promote shared prosperity in a sustainable way by delivering transformative information and technologies to its staff working in over 150 locations.

Our vision is to transform how the Bank Group conducts its mission through information and technology. In this fast-paced, ever-changing world, the formulation and implementation of the ITS strategy is an ongoing, iterative process of learning and adaptation developed through extensive consultations with business partners throughout the World Bank Group.

ITS shapes its strategy in response to changing business priorities and leverages new technologies to achieve three high-level business outcomes: business enablement, by providing Bank Group units with innovative digital tools and technologies to transform how they deliver value for their clients; empowerment & effectiveness, by ensuring that all Bank Group staff are connected, able to find information, and productive to accelerate the delivery of development solutions globally; and resilience, by equipping the Bank Group to provide risk-based cybersecurity and robust data protection for a global network and a growing cloud platform.

Implementation of the strategy is guided by three core principles. The first is to deliver solutions for business partners that are customer-centric, innovative, and transformative. The second is to provide the Bank Group with value for money with selective and standard technologies. The third principle is to excel at the basics by supplying a high performing, robust, and resilient IT environment for the organization.

Unit Context:

WBG Finance (ITSFI) is responsible for providing high quality, streamlined information and technology solutions for the World Bank’s Financial & HR services, which include Human Resources, Corporate Finance, Risk Management, Controls, Treasury, Loans, Accounting, and Concessional finance (handling donor contributions from inception to the point of final disbursement, including IDA, Financial Intermediary Funds and Trust Funds). ITSFI is additionally responsible for building its IT services using a shared platform that supplies scale, leverage, reliability, and control while at the same time improving responsiveness to appearing business needs. The ITSFI team is accountable for the implementation of the ITS Strategy supporting WBG core finance business processes.

As a unit within WBG Finance (ITSFI), ITSFE provides distinct and complex financial solutions support to the operation of the World Bank Group Finance & Accounting, Development Finance, Treasury, and Global Climate Change Vice presidencies.

Duties and Accountabilities:

The Information and Technology Financial Engineering (ITSFE) is looking for a candidate to strengthen and support the SAP system. The selected candidate will support the SAP system with specialization in Interfacing and Workflow applications. The candidate is expected to play a significant role in delivering capital projects and ongoing maintenance services.

The Business Solutions Officer will:

•Deliver results for clients by challenging the status quo and bringing ideas with unique value proposition to the clients’ agendas.

•Provide guidance and support through both the strategic and the technical elements for the delivery of standardization and automation of complex business process challenges.

•Provide insights to project feasibility by researching client needs and problem areas, collaborating and communicating with internal/external stakeholders, understanding system workflows, reporting needs, regulatory impact, and data usage.

•Document business and technical strategies for major business process changes that deliver value, primary business functions performed within the processes, and primary supporting applications.

Responsibilities

•Lead all phases of the system lifecycle. This includes meeting with clients to gain an understanding of their business needs, document business processes, design and develop IT solutions with direct responsibilities for the system design, coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and deployment.

•Function as a liaison between business sponsor units, project manager, the development team, and vendor resources both on premises and offshore.

•Conduct requirements gathering and ease the identification of user needs. Convert these into technical requirements and effective business systems solutions. Develop use cases, business process diagrams, and detailed technical specifications to guide the system design and development effort.

•Design, plan and lead testing efforts and coordinate feedback of test results. Develop test scripts and conduct system testing (unit, system, stress, integration). Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) activities with business leads and follow up with defect correction as needed.

•Lead the technical solution development and application deployment, prepare communication and training materials.

•Provide technical support and guidance for day-to-day production issues involving the coordination with business and multiple ITS teams to achieve issue resolution within service standards. Document and track technical issues and status for review by clients and ITS management.

•Work closely with Infrastructure teams e.g., Windows, Web Administration, Network Operations, Infrastructure Platforms, Mobility, Database, Security Administration to define deployment architecture and capacity planning for any new environment / Landscape and any critical issue resolution.

•Coordinate with WBG fiduciary teams e.g., Enterprise Architecture (EA), Office of the Information Security (OIS) during various stages of software development and function as a liaison for various development teams.

•Lead by example, supplying technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members.

•Use strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills to cultivate effective, productive client relationships and partnerships across organizational boundaries.

Selection Criteria

•Master's degree with 5 years relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

•Minimum 5 years of experience with SAP NetWeaver’s Exchange Infrastructure/Process Integration/Process Orchestration (XI/PI/PO)

•Minimum 5 years of experience in with system development, design, and implementation in the financial domain with a strong knowledge of ABAP programming language, Business Workflow development, SAP FI/CO, SAP MM related modules.

•Proven experience in systems design and have a solid understanding of development, database design, testing, and integration methodologies.

•Demonstrated experience of working and navigating in large and matrixed organizations with multi-layered governance structures, complex landscapes, and distributed teams.

•Strong experience with client engagement, business analysis, requirements gathering, data governance, IT change management, IT application development and implementation.

•Expertise in integration of SAP Fieldglass system with SAP. Experience in Fieldglass connectors – Work Order, Invoices and Master Data upload.

•Knowledge of SAP Licensing configuration.

•Experience with SAP MM (PO, Inbound Delivery, PR, Service Entry Sheet)

•Experience with FI-CO (Inbound, Outbound payments, General ledger postings) modules.

•Experience with SAP HR Mini Master Module and its integration with other SAP modules.

•Experience in SAP Workflow Development involving complex designs using deadline monitoring - auto escalations, repetitive reminders, Dynamic Work item creation, change pointer technique, attaching work items to emails, workflow administration, troubleshooting, workflow configuration and performance optimization.

•Experience required in Standard/Interactive Reports, Batch Data Communications and file handling, job Scheduling, Parallel Processing, Workbench tools, SAP Script, Smart forms, Diverse types of ALVs, ABAP Objects, User-exits, BADIs, Enhancements, OLE integration, IDOCs, Object oriented ABAP, Module Pool, RFC, Event Handling, Authorization objects, Data archiving etc.

•Experience needed HR ABAP to read and write info types, Custom info type creation, Logical data base usage and reporting, Organization structure maintenance, master data integration, Creation of queries etc.

•Experience needed on consuming and publishing SOAP, REST, OData services directly from R3

•Experience required in Web based development using BSP and ABAP Webdynpro.

•Technical, functional, and architectural expertise in integrating SAP products with 3rd party applications (Enterprise Application Integration (EAI)) using different technologies – ALE-IDocs, BAPIs, XML, HTTP, JDBC, File, SOAP, JMS using SAP PI.

•Experience in integration of SAP and non-SAP systems in A2A and B2B scenarios using XI/PI, EP, Web Dynpro technology and ABAP, using both synchronous and asynchronous communication (end to end) interfaces

•Expertise in complete end to end interface scoping, documentation, development, design, implementation, and support. Configuration and customization of PI-Basis functions like setting up of RFC Destinations, Port and Partner Profiles in both ECC and XI.

•Good understanding of REST, PI-SOAP message format, PI-Pipeline Services, and experience in XML development, ccBPM, ABAP, Java (OOPS programming) and XSLT mapping and SOAP over HTTP protocols.

•Experience in Mobile Integration of SAP approvals.

•Strong people skills, cross-cultural and team player skills, plus ability to work effectively in a small team under tight deadlines.

•Demonstrated ability to prioritize decisions for operational results.

•Excellent written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability to advocate positions and defend orally and in writing difficult issues and positions.

•SAP certifications (ABAP, Workflow).

•Knowledge of World Bank processes, systems and data is a significant plus

•Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation skills, with a strong command of English and an ability to convey complex ideas in a clear, direct, and lively format.
