Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security

Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency

Incumbents perform journey level duties and may serve as a lead worker to lower level IT staff as assigned

This is a supervisory level for the Computer Operations function

Incumbents perform journey-level Geographic Information Systems (GIS) duties and serve as lead worker for systems in the Division of Environmental Protection within the Department of Conservation & Natural Resources

Incumbents will directly support a user base of GIS users within the Division of Environmental Protection

Additionally, the incumbent will serve as a GIS resource assisting staff within the Department of Conservation & Natural Resources

Incumbents will develop and maintain the GIS systems(s), plan, design, modify, implement, and administer multiple departmental spatial databases; develop and enforce administration procedures and security standards; facilitate and monitor multi-user versioned editing and viewing workflows; design, implement and monitor spatial database security, performance, and availability; create database objects, user and roles; create and maintain spatial database replication environment, schedule and monitor replica synchronizations; test and perform software updates

Incumbents will install, configure and administer GIS Server application software; create, optimize, publish, and monitor multiple web map, feature, geoprocessing, and search services on the intranet and internet; document web-service data-source dependencies

The Position
