The Opportunity
At the Melton City Council, we strive to create a vibrant and liveable city accessible to all. The Information Technology department contributes to this vision by transforming Melton City Council service delivery to achieve operational excellence, build community trust and enhance citizen experience when engaging with council services.
As an IT Service Desk Officer, you will be responsible for providing support and assistance to end-users, ensuring the effective operation of IT systems and services across the Melton City Council. This will include troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing service requests, and maintaining a high level of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Provide first-line support for IT-related issues, including hardware, software, and network troubleshooting, ensuring timely resolution and user satisfaction.
Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless incident management, escalate issues as needed, and track the progress of service requests.
Maintain a comprehensive knowledge base and document solutions for common technical problems to improve service efficiency and effectiveness.
Support the setup, installation, and configuration of IT equipment, such as computers, printers, and other peripherals, for new and existing users.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
Tertiary Qualification with little experience, alternately no Degree or Diploma but with lesser formal qualifications with relevant work experience in Information Technology service delivery.
Strong understanding of IT support methodologies, including ITIL and common IT service management practices.
Proven experience in providing technical support and troubleshooting a variety of IT systems and applications such as Microsoft Office365, Active Directory, internet applications.
Familiarity with IT service management software and tools for logging and tracking incidents, requests, and assets.
Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
