The Chief Ombudsman works with their staff to help New Zealanders in their dealings with government agencies. The focus is on handling complaints against government agencies, undertaking investigations and inspections, and encouraging good administration. Our Digital and Technology (DAT) Team is dynamic, busy, and committed to implementing and supporting purpose-built systems and processes to support the achievement of the Chief Ombudsman's strategic intentions.
Our DAT team is crucial to OOTOs success, providing integrated digital and technical solutions to enable the Ombudsman to reach his strategic objectives and seek continuous improvement.

Mo te turanga - About the role
The IT Support Analyst is the first point of contact for IT support, responsible for managing IT requests to the IT service desk and providing timely, high-quality technical support at level 1 and 2 for our people. The role is based on site in Wellington at the Office's Head Office and provides remote and in person helpdesk support for staff, and desktop support for end user devices, audiovisual equipment, printers, and core network infrastructure (Wi-Fi and switches, etc), ensuring IT services across the organisation are available, reliable and secure. The role is customer oriented and focussed on ensuring business continuity.
The IT Support Analyst may also be involved in projects, as assigned by the Chief Digital and Technology Officer.

To be successful in this role you will have:
Experience performing on site customer facing service delivery roles ideally in a Public Sector environment.
Experience supporting a wide range of technology, business applications and digital solutions, ideally including the Microsoft M365 suite, Open Text Content Manager and Open Text App Works, and Drupal CMS.
ITIL Service Management Foundations certification and a working knowledge of operating using the ITIL framework
Previous experience as a team member in IT projects and/or improvement initiatives would be beneficial
Experience working within Public Sector or organisations with a strong focus on security would be beneficial
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to plan, effectively prioritise, and execute work to meet agreed deadlines and target service levels
Demonstrates resilience, has the ability to adapt to change, and meets challenges with drive and enthusiasm
A relevant (IT) tertiary qualification is preferred.

Depending on skills and experience the salary is expected to be between $67,488 to $88,578 with $84,360 being the mid-point.
