Job Description
We are seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator to join our team at ITC Infotech. As a key member of our IT infrastructure team, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our PostgreSQL databases on-premises and in the cloud.
Key Responsibilities:
• Install and provision PostgreSQL databases on premises and in the cloud, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Perform day-to-day database maintenance activities on premises and on AWS EC2 and Aurora Serverless, including backups, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases using PG tools like psql, pg_stat, pg_dump/pg_restore, pg_repack, pg_logical, pgbadger, pg_bouncer, pgadmin, and pgbasebackup, enhancing data security, scalability, and performance.
• Set up and manage replication on-prem, on AWS EC2, and on AWS Aurora, facilitating seamless data synchronization and high availability.
• Collaborate with the AWS DB Management console and database services, streamlining database operations and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Migrate PostgreSQL databases to AWS Aurora using PostgreSQL native tools and AWS native services, minimizing downtime and ensuring business continuity.
Requirements:
• 6-8 years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA, with expertise in rotational shift schedules and strong knowledge of PostgreSQL database management.
• Familiarity with AWS services and tools, including EC2, RDS, and Aurora Serverless, and experience with database migration and optimization.
