Who we are looking for
SSGA is looking for a Strong Java candidate with 10+ of experience in Java and Database technologies to contribute in Development and Maintenance of large scale finance applications. The candidate will own the front end web and middle ware deliverables of the Finance team, in Java and Javascript platform. Candidate should have experience working in JBoss (Linux) environment and worked on scheduled jobs. IT deliverables include technical design (high level & low level), estimation, development, deployment and technical support. The candidate should also have been part of cloud and other migration projects. The candidate has experience in modernising legacy application using microservices and cloud technologies.
What the candidate will be responsible for
Individual contributor owning the entire front end (web) and Java components of the application
Convert business requirements to technical components
Design, Development and Release the Java and front end components
Writing RESTFul services, DAO components, Business rules, integration to inbound and outbound systems
Writing microservices using spring boot and knowledge in docker and kubernetes.
Lead the Cloud migration efforts
Review and support peer deliverables
Provide technical support in analyzing production issues L3/L4 to ensure the uninterrupted services to the business
Be a technical mentor for the junior team members
Effective collaboration with the Boston, Business counterparts and other application teams
Skills and Experience
10+ years of experience in IT industry
Proven strong programming experience as Java and Web developer (java & javascript / jquery), preferably working on low latency, high throughput, globally distributed systems
Experience in microservice and event driven architecture using springboot, kafka, docker and kubernetes.
Experience in AWS ecosystem, AWS Solution Architect certification is a plus
Excellent working knowledge of AWS services like S3, EC2, Amazon Aurora, RDS, Redshift
Excellent working knowledge of PL/SQL, Stored Procedures on Oracle, Postgres and Redshift
Expert in performance tuning, query optimization, large scale data analytics
Strong OLTP, data warehousing design and development skills
Knowledge of Database Modeling and Design for Enterprise Data Warehousing
Good experience in JBoss Server
Solid experience in Unix / Linux environment
Experience in Technology migration projects including Cloud migration
Strong analytic, problem solving, and collaborative skills
Bachelor’s Degree or more
