We are seeking a compassionate and committed Social Worker in Schools (SWiS) to join the Anglican Trust for Women & Children (ATWC) in Māngere.

The SWiS role focuses on strengthening the wellbeing, safety, and educational success of tamariki by working closely with children, their whānau, and the wider school community. You will build trusted relationships, identify strengths and challenges, and develop practical, achievable plans that support positive and sustainable change.

Working in partnership with school staff and community networks, you will help create a safe and supportive environment where tamariki feel valued, heard, and able to thrive. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a tangible difference within tamariki, whānau, and the wider community.

About the Role

As a Social Worker in Schools, you will provide strengths-based, child-centred support within a school setting.

You will:

Deliver social work support to tamariki and their whānau within the school community
Undertake assessments and develop practical support plans
Work collaboratively with school staff and external agencies
Build high-trust relationships with tamariki and whānau
Promote child safety, wellbeing, and engagement in education
Maintain accurate and timely case notes and documentation
Contribute positively as a member of both the school and ATWC team
What We’re Looking For:

Qualifications
Social Work qualification

Registration with the Social Workers Registration Board (SWRB)

Skills and Experience
Experience working with tamariki, whānau, or within the social services sector
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong relationship-building and engagement skills
Commitment to strengths-based and tikanga-informed practice
Strong computer literacy and documentation skills
Full, clean NZ Driver Licence
Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand
