As a Barclays Java Developer you will be joining Fixed Income Financing team within Investment Banking technology area. You will be instrumental in implementing, developing, enhancing and supporting Repo Market Data, Trade Execution, Trade Capture and other Front Office applications. In your role you will take ownership of the deliverables of each iteration, ensuring the scope of the project/deliverables is well understood.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. What will you be doing?
• Designing complex systems; good command over the relevant design patterns and concepts covering failover and resiliency
• Developing and supporting of trade capture platform for Repo Trading Platform
• Performing code reviews to ensure implemented functionality matches expectations and is in line with coding standards defined globally
• Co-ordinating with the QA team and the larger IT group in delivery of implemented features to production
• Interacting with front office users and operations for requirements/support
• Assisting in the investigation and troubleshooting of production issues.
• Playing an active role in mentoring/coaching/training and development of team members
• Improving processes and software in a continuous feedback cycle
Solid experience on core Java Developer Must have strong skills in Object Oriented Analysis and Design Concepts, Java, Relational Databases
• Exposure to Core Java, Restful services, Spring, Unix, Solace, Database
• Solid knowledge of middleware platforms (Solace, IBM MQ)
• Solid experience on in-memory data grid caching technologies preferably Ignite/GridGain
Skills That Will Help You In The Role
• Solid experience developing high-performance software. Ability to coordinate activities of less experienced or less knowledgeable
• Exposure to skill in Test Driven Development, Continuous Delivery and System integration
• Solid experience with Docker/Kubernetes and development of containerized applications
• Exposure of financial markets
