Java Developer
Location: Mumbai

The Business
Morgan Stanley Fund Services (MSFS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Morgan Stanley and administers over $400 billion of hedge fund and Private Equity assets. Using the Firm’s proprietary, globally accessible technology platform, MSFS provides a full range of fund administration services, including daily accounting and financial reporting; transfer agency and investor services; middle and back-office support; and integrated portfolio analytics. The business is supported by more than 1,000 professionals (Operations and Technology) based in New York, London, Hong Kong, Dublin, Glasgow, Mumbai, and Bangalore.
The Team
The Workflow team is a core technology team that sits alongside other technology teams in MSFS. The team works in an Agile environment and is responsible for providing a flexible workflow platform that supports MSFS business processes and aims to provide a unified platform for operations users to efficiently manage their daily workload. The system is currently undergoing a revamp and needs business-minded out-of-the-box technological thinkers that will help drive the renovation and be instrumental in creating the next generation MSFS workflow platform which will create efficiency and deliver a productive and engaging experience for the business. The platform technology stack currently consists of an Angular/React front-ends and Java back-end (REST/SOAP, Spring Boot), relational databases (Sybase/Postgres) and with heavy use of messaging infrastructure and queues for inter-process communication. Moving forward the strategy is to move to the cloud.
The Position

If yes, then the Workflow team is looking for someone like you to help and drive forward the efficiency agenda.
You will bring fresh perspective and ideas to the global team and will be in possession of strong development skills. There will be an expectation to align with the team’s development principles and processes and to develop relationships with key business stakeholders.

The Acceptance Criteria
• 3 years of relevant enterprise-level experience
• Experience with writing clean code in Java that is structured using a test-first development approach
• Experience with relational databases and comfortable working with complex schema
• Displays technological curiosity and is committed to continuous learning and development
• Comfortable with working in a diverse global team
• Completed a Bachelor's degree or higher in any discipline
The Nice-to-haves
• Experience with the cloud and related technologies
• Experience with API design
• Experience with NoSQL data stores
• Experience developing applications front-to-back (full-stack)
• Experience working in an agile team
