Position Overview
Verra Mobility is seeking aJava Developer candidate to contribute to the development and quality of our future and existing technology products. This position will assist in the building of new platforms on cloud technologies that diversify our portfolio as well as enhancing the technical platforms that drive of our core business. This individual will collaborate with Software Development Leaders, Business Analysts, other teams & team members for sharing and gaining knowledge and experience to help enhance team performance and departmental competency.
Essential Responsibilities
• Building quality in, delivering value to customers, and automating manual steps to avoid any manual intervention.
• Collaborate with team to suggest application design and promote quality.
• Sharing knowledge and coaching other team members.
• Build a complex, enterprise-transforming applications.
• Using the latest tools and techniques.
• Hands-on coding.
• Understanding the business domain deeply and working closely with business partners.
• Constantly look for ways to improve individually and as a team.
• Actively collaborate with team to clarify requirements, design the solution, and provide feedback.
• Actively participate in scrum ceremonies like daily stand-ups, team planning, retrospectives.
• Participating proactively in daily stand-up meetings, story grooming sessions, team retrospectives, suggesting and implementing improvements.
Qualifications
• 8+ years of development and delivery experience with Java, JavaScript frameworks (we use React),.
• Familiar with databases, like Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.
• Excellent Object-Oriented skills and design patterns knowledge.
• Experience building and automating the deployment process.
• Skilled in test-driven development, test automation & continuous delivery.
• Experience in code reviews and sharing feedback with peers.
• Experience in owning the tasks and completing it with little/no supervision.
• Experience working in Agile Development Methodology.
• Good communication skills.
• Familiar with ELK, Artifactory/Nexus, Git, Bash, Java, Gradle, Bamboo/Jenkins.
• Familiar with DevOps tools like Docker, Helm, Terraform.
• AWS certified Associate or Professional preferred but not required.
• Comfortable in nix environment.
• Show a commitment to ongoing professional development through self-learning, attending conferences etc.
• Exposure to JIRA or similar issue tracker.
• To show a commitment to ongoing professional development through self-learning, professional training, participation in open-source projects, attending conferences etc.
• Work collaboratively and productively with all colleagues, internal and external stakeholders.
