At TSB, we’re transforming the service we provide our customers, and technology will be at the forefront of that change. It’s an exciting transformation to an agile environment and we’re investing in a new in-house engineering capability to deliver it – so, if you’re a forward-looking and innovative IT professional, this is your opportunity to be in on the ground floor and help us build the future of banking.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Java Engineer, you’ll play a key role in the design, development, and maintenance of software applications and systems. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business requirements and contribute to the success of our projects. You’ll bridge the gap between Associate Engineers and Lead Engineers, taking on more responsibilities and demonstrating proficiency in your domain. Collaborating with team members to design, develop and maintain software applications, you’ll ensure that you meet quality standards, functionality requirements, and business objectives. You’ll make meaningful contributions to the success of software projects while continuing to grow and develop your skills and expertise in your field.

What You’ll Bring
• Experienced in software development, with a focus on frontend or backend development.
• Solid understanding of software development principles, methodologies, and best practices.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git) and Agile development methodologies.
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Engineering experience (minimum of 2 years) with a proven track record of coding in Java11 (ideally Java21) using TDD/BDD.
• Basic know ledge of REST APIs, spring Integration, Kafka or Confluent stack.
• Preferred experience of working on AWS Cloud, micro services using DevSecOps pipelines.
• Knowledge of enterprise Java frameworks such as Spring (particularly SpringBoot, Spring Cloud Stream, Spring Security, Spring Data).
• Basic understanding of Functional Programming (Lambda, Streams) and of Web security.

What we offer in return
• Hybrid and flexible working arrangements to support a healthy work/life balance.
• A drive for continuous improvement and development.
• An attractive reward and myTSB benefits package, giving you more of what matters to you.
• A diverse, energising, and collaborative working environment.
• A truly inclusive organisation that values difference, where everyone feels welcome and has access to equal opportunities.
• A career that’s enriching and full of opportunities.
• Please note you will be required to complete a codility test as part of the selection process.

If this sounds right up your street, come, and join our team. We make things happen!
