We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Project Manager HSBC has built a successful Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities Derivatives Business over several years. Building upon HSBCs strengths (global presence, customer and emerging markets focus) the business has grown to become a major player in the global derivatives market. The primary aim of the Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities - FICC IT team is to develop and support the IT systems that allow the business to be successful. Calculations and compute function sits across all product lines of the GDM, supporting several products (Credit Default Swaps, Interest Rate Swaps, Bonds etc ) and initiatives. Risk Management is an obvious focus of the team, with direct impact to Front Office. The business also several requirements for functional initiatives (Intraday & EOD Calculations and Scenarios, Regulatory integration, expansion to new products and HSBC sites and many more). These initiatives are tightly aligned with our technical strategy around distributed systems, cloud migration, accessibility and expansion to multiple customers and sites. The team's ethos is to enable the business to grow and continue to generate revenue by delivering robust and scalable IT systems. Reducing manual process and operational risk is also a focus. The Opportunity: (Brief Overview of the Role) You will act as an architecture and engineering consultant to teams across the GDM (Global Debt Markets) space. Your focus will be on helping to drive sensible architectural governance across those teams as well as identifying and engaging in hands on engineering opportunities within the teams. Job Profile:

• Own technical design and implementation of the functional responsibility
• Be accountable for thought-leadership and delivery across the full technology life cycle including inception, construction, testing, release and ongoing management across multiple products or services
• Consult with teams across the GDM (Global Debt Markets) space on both proposed and in use system architectures.
• Work to understand key deliverables across the GDM space and help assess and mitigate any architectural risk that might arise from delivery.
• Help drive and maintain effective but low touch architectural governance across the estate.
• Identify and execute opportunities to automate and improve our central governance controls as much as is feasible to reduce overheads while maintaining good governance control
• Help drive good engineering culture and practices through hands on development through short term embedding in delivery teams
• Coach and mentor team members and help build a high performing technical delivery teams
• Assist in the production and review of solution design documents
• Support the production services as part of the global team Requirements
• Solid working experience within software architecture and software development with excellent track record
• Experience with solution design for technical platforms within a complex industry
• Strong hands-on skills in Java based micro-service architectures
• Solid working experience in Agile development framework and familiar with Agile tools
• Proven track record in driving continuous improvement
• Self-driven and capable of work proactively, collaboratively and effectively with geographically dispersed teams
• University Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline
• Domain knowledge in banking - trade life-cycle and post trade processing for financial investment products, including FX, Fixed Income, Equities, Derivatives, etc.
• Experience on cloud architecture and development would be a plus You'll achieve more when you join HSBC.
